WHAT WE DO

Big capability.
A personal approach.

You don’t need an enterprise-sized team to make technology work for you. You need the right expertise, focused on the right problem.

01 / BUILD

Software that fits
the way you work.

When an off-the-shelf tool doesn’t quite fit, we build something that does. Practical, dependable software shaped around your processes.

  • Bespoke business tools
  • Workflow automation
  • Practical use of AI
02 / CONNECT

Make your systems
work together.

Remove the gaps between your tools. We connect systems so information can move reliably and your team can spend less time moving it manually.

  • System and data integrations
  • Supply chain and warehouse systems
  • Carrier and shipping integrations
03 / SUPPORT

A clear head for
a tricky problem.

A second opinion, an extra pair of hands, or experienced technical leadership. We help you understand your options and move forward with confidence.

  • Hands-on technical advice
  • Architecture and code reviews
  • Support for your development team

A few hours of advice or a bespoke solution. We start with what you need.

THE OPTIMIST PART

Technology should
amplify people.

We believe every business should have access to the capability that only large enterprises could once afford. That means clearing away friction, admin and guesswork, so your team can focus on the work that actually grows the business.

Better tools. More room to think. People in charge.

HOW WE WORK

Solve the right problem.
Then solve it well.

We can work independently or alongside your team. Either way, you get a thoughtful partner who takes the time to understand your business.

01

Listen first.

We get to know how you work, what’s slowing you down, and what a useful result would look like.

02

Find the right fit.

We agree a practical approach together. Sometimes that’s a new tool. Sometimes it’s a simpler process or a little expert guidance.

03

Make it work.

We build, review and refine with you, with a focus on reliable delivery and something your people can use with confidence.

EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE OPTIMISM

Hello.
I’m Jeremy.

Jeremy Harris
The person behind Data Optimist

Meet me on LinkedIn

A technical specialist, a team leader, and a firm believer that good software starts with understanding people.

I bring over 27 years of experience delivering complex software across supply chain logistics and telecommunications. For more than 15 years at Manhattan Associates, I technically led projects and line-managed a team of experienced developers, working with clients whose needs were never quite the same.

That experience taught me to connect solid technical design with practical business needs — and to turn complex requirements into reliable, production-ready solutions.

Supply chain & logistics

Manhattan WMOS Classic, WMOS Platform and Manhattan Active WM. Carrier integrations with MetaPack, Consignor (nShift) and Sorted.

Telecommunications

12 years in the sector, including technical leadership on Vodafone’s European pre-pay voucher integration and promotions and subscriptions engines.

Engineering & leadership

Java, C++, Python and Oracle. Technical architecture, supportive team leadership, and rigorous reviews of third-party software.
